During that season, Excelsior earned a Stellar Award for New Artist of the Year, and the album Soul Interpretations received a GRAMMY nomination, marking a formative chapter in Davis’ award-recognized production legacy.
Expanding his influence into major cultural moments, Davis assisted renowned choreographer Fatima Robinson in assembling and shaping a choir and unified vocal brand for Snoop Dogg’s Christmas Day halftime performance during the Vikings vs. Lions matchup. The performance was recorded in Minneapolis and broadcast globally on Netflix, highlighting Davis’ ability to steward gospel-rooted vocal excellence within high-profile, mainstream productions.
Davis’ calling extends beyond the sanctuary. He has served as musical director for the stage production Parks at the Minnesota History Theatre, appeared twice at Lincoln Center, performed with Prince on Rave Un2 the Year 2000, and composed music for The Young & The Restless.
In 2014, Davis and The Remnant released Moving Forward, which charted nationally on Billboard, reaching the Top 20 on the Gospel Albums chart. The project earned a Traditional Gospel Album of the Year nomination from the Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and a Stellar Gospel Music Awards nomination for Contemporary Choir of the Year.
Following Live Again (2017), Davis released his solo project Another Part of Me, which debuted at #13 on Billboard charts and climbed to #7. Most recently, Davis and The Remnant released three singles from their forthcoming live album The Rebirth, slated for release in early 2026.
